Film Festivals:
Melinda Augustina in "Going Green" has won it's first award, the Jury Award at Marin County Int'l Film Festival. Congratulations to all of my colleagues in the cast & crew and especially the great comedy minds of Jonathan Browning, Jason Pardo and Leslie McManus. You can see the trailer and read more about "Going Green" right here. "Eco-Ninja", where Melinda's charater is not afraid to sick the Eco-Ninja on a non-eco-complying fellow employee, has begun playing film festivals, too. Click here for latest updates on both films with Screaming Frog Productions. YouTube: Another music video with the comic minds at Back of the Class - I'm "The Mom" in pink for the video GRADUATION SUCKS. Watch it here! "My Mom's On Facebook" has over 1,000,000 views now. Watch it again right here! Last month Melinda wrote and shot a short parody on Sue Lowden's "Chickens for Checkups" health care plan. In case you haven't heard, Sue Lowden (Nevada (Republican) candidate for Senate) has a fantasy that as a culture, we might be able to return to old fashioned ways of paying our doctors for our medical bills. With chickens, horses and chores. Didn't make it up. These are facts we pull from the news. Crazy times. We'll post a link here as soon as it's ready. The video stars yours truly, Melinda Augustina, plus the beautiful and uber-hiarious Iris Braydon and the very hot and very funny Jeff Pride. SAG AWARDS: Melinda was invited to be on the nominating committee for SAG Awards in the category of Prime Time Television for the 17th Annual Screen Actor's Guild Awards. Melinda says, "There are so many great Prime Time Television performances right now. It's an honor to have the opportunity to nominate them."

Couldn't be happier that the music video "My Mom's On Facebook" has over 69,000 views in it's first day on YouTube. Comedy geniuses Brett Weiner, Max Dionne, Jesse Porter and Dan Roe from Back of the Class are a comedic force to be reckoned with. They're working w/Ashton Kutcher's team over at Katalyst HQ right now, so expect to see more from them very soon. I'm "The Mom" and I know what you're thinking... "wasn't she dating boys this age just a few years ago?" and I say, "No comment..." LOL! One of the best things about being in Los Angeles is being surrounded by extraordinarily talented people. I've spent the last few years collecting talented friends and production partners and am often delighted by their perspectives, their challenges, their work.
This month, we (Power Hungry Productions II) and Doggie Dream Productions begin pre-production on an incredibly funny short film titled "Welcome to the Family" by writer/director Tim Bartell. Since it's only 5 minutes, can't give away the whole story line, but the log line is "Little sister is getting married. That's all good, right? RIGHT?" You can become a fan on our "Welcome to the Family" Facebook Fan Page and follow-along with production notes as it happens. This short is intended specifically for online distribution and for film festivals that accept short films that have already played online. Thanks for stopping by to read and we look forward to meeting you at a screening some day! News from our uber-hilarious friends at Back of the Class is that the music video we shot last year will be released online in January. Back of the Class is the great team behind Hollywood Asst. video. The Hollywood Asst. video landed them a contract with Ashton Kutcher's company Katalyst HQ.
Can't tell you the name of the new video yet, but can promise you that it will be verrrrry funny. ;-) Check back right here for the link in January. |
